What kindness means to GIIS Balestier campus students

Tristan D’Souza, Class 4

The Singapore Kindness Movement, a non-government, non-profit organisation, aims to encourage Singaporeans to make a positive commitment to gracious living through simple acts of kindness in their daily activities.

My school, GIIS Balestier campus, has been part of this campaign and has won many awards over the years, including the Gold Award for the second consecutive year. Last year, I was fortunate to have been a Friend of Singa ambassador and along with eight others, was involved in a project called “A Wave of Kindness” to spread kindness in the neighbourhood and among students at our school.

It brought awareness of the kindness movement and was a reminder to every child of how he or she can bring cheer to others, thus making our school environment a place where we see goodness and kindness all around. I am proud to have been part of this project and I pledge to carry this message wherever I go!
