Merriments galore at GIIS Balestier Campus Annual Day 2014

A colourful, vibrant and zesty Annual Day Celebrations 2014 called ‘Dreams Unlimited’ and ‘Potpourri of Rhythm and Dances’ took place at the GIIS Balestier Campus on November 15, 2014.

Show 1 – ‘Dreams Unlimited’

The little energetic dancers from Nursery to Class 2 showcased their talent with foot tapping music and synchronised to graceful movements during the event.

Aptly titled “Dreams Unlimited” the show highlighted dreams of little children as they express their dream of being a robot, a pixie, a fairy, chocolates, pop divas, musicians, mermaids, cowboys and other fairy tale characters to name a few. Through this platform students to expressed their happiness in epitomising childhood- innocent and carefree manner.
A spectacular performance was knit together, which captivated the large audience of parents and dignitaries. The colourful back drops for each presentations added to the richness of the show. Each performance was ably supported by the emcees who threaded the performance into creating a huge colourful canvass.

Show 2 – ‘Potpourri of Rhythm and Dances’

An energetic and power packed performances from students of Classes 3 to 6 was presented on stage at the GIIS Balestier Campus as the sequel to the Annual Day Celebrations 2014.

The show titled Potpourri of Rhythm and Dances captivated the audience as students in coloured costumes performed to blended music, from slow and lilting to the fast beats and rising to a crescendo.

Ably choreographed performances included a carnival, acrobats, the five elements, significance of colours in our lives and finally Victory. The finale received thundering applauds from the audience because of the social message it gave. The regeneration of wastelands into blossoming landscapes filling the world with hope of a lively future for the generations to come.

Principal Sheela Karia presented the School Annual report in the format of the highly acclaimed Nine GEMS™ model, which highlighted the achievements of the school in various spheres, and placed before the audience the forthcoming programmes for this year. The event was graced by the presence of Co-founder and Chairman, Global Schools Foundation (GSF) Mr Atul Temurnikar; Mr Sudan Wargantiwar; Deputy CEO, Mr Kaustubh Bodhankar; COO GSF, Mr Kamal Gupta; Director Business Development & Project Portfolio Management, Mr Bharatkumar Unercat; Country Director, Singapore, Rajiv Vasudeva, Director Operations; Mr GSS Rao, Operations Manager, Mr Indranil Bhattacharya and Principal Ms Madhu Khanna (GIIS Queenstown Campus).
