Students at East Coast campus celebrates Earth Day with numerous green initiatives

In its pursuit of working towards bringing positive environmental impact through its green initiatives, the GIIS East Coast campus celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2022. Marking the day, students from all grade levels participated in numerous activities enthusiastically.

As part of the event, the primary students went around exploring the campus, observing the surroundings, and making beautiful sketches. They collected little treasures like twigs and leaves for their scrapbooks. At the middle school level, the Grade 6 students made plans on how they can contribute towards the conservation of natural resources for a sustainable future. The students wrote their pledges and signed them.

The students from Grade 7 and 8 made banners and posters focusing on promoting environmental awareness. They displayed their creativity by making crafts like pencil holders, stationery trays, and bookmarks out of recycled materials.

The Grade 9 and 10 students worked on a plantation drive, planting vegetable seeds in the campus’s organic garden. They also researched on a wide range of topics including finding ways to work towards a sustainable environment.

GIIS has always given utmost importance to imbibe the right values in the young generation, helping them grow holistically through its 9 GEMS pedagogy. Events like this remind them to take initiatives towards nurturing the environment and be equal participants in the sustainability of the planet.
