Special Diwali celebrations at GIIS East Coast Campus

GIIS East Coast Campus celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights with a special assembly being organised on October 21, 2022. The entire campus was filled with the cheer and laughter of students, teachers, and parents as they participated in fun-filled activities, exciting competitions, and performances.

As part of the celebration, a plethora of activities were organised. The students had a great time playing fun games such as 7 up 7 down, colour illusion, toss the ring, fishing, and hit and shoot. There were also food stalls being set up selling delectable items such as brownies, pav bhaji, popcorn, pasta, corn chaat, and sandwiches.

The students also enthusiastically presented several performances and the highlight of the event was the skit Ram Katha performed by the senior students.

The student council members of the GIIS East Coast also organised a dandiya event which saw the participation of students, teachers, and parent volunteers grooving to the lively, pulsating and rhythmic beats. A dandiya competition was also organised for the students in Grades 6-10. At the end of the dandiya session, winners for Best Dressed, Garba Queen, and Garba King were announced. The event infused the festive spirit in one and all.

The school has always strived to encourage its students to learn and respect their culture and traditions. Celebrations like this allow them to stay connected to their roots while learning the significance and history of different festivals.
