Six students emerged winners and runners-up in the 2021 edition of Global Indian Stars (GIS), the annual music competition hosted by GIIS East Coast Campus. Following the success of last year’s event, GIS 2021 was also conducted virtually, joined by a large number of participants and audience which made the musical event as entertaining as ever.

Since its establishment in 2007, Global Indian Stars has always aimed to create an opportunity for budding singers to discover and show off their vocal potential, and this year was no different. The competition consisted of participants from various schools in Singapore as well as across the globe. 

The participants, falling under the Sub Junior, Junior or Senior categories, had to go through various rounds to reach the Finals where they were judged by eminent personalities, including Dr. Namita Mehta, Mr. Govind Murali, Ms. Srividya Sriram, Mr. Kumar Karthigesu, Mr. Vishwajeet Borwankar and Ms. Sheh Feng. 

At the end of the round for each category, the judges decided on the Winner, 1st Runner Up, and 2nd Runner Up positions, as well as the Golden Voice, and Rocking Performance of the Day awards.

The category winners of Global Indian Stars 2021 are given below:

In the GIS 2021 Sub Junior Category the winner was Nivaan Chakraborty, followed by Aaratrika Mitra as 1st Runner Up and Diya Sriram as 2nd Runner Up. The Golden Voice award was also bagged by Aaratrika Mitra, and the Rocking Performance of the Day was Rei Maeda.

In the Junior Category the winner was K. Tanishqa, followed by Roshan Bharadhwaj as 1st Runner Up and a tie between Pranav Krishnan and Nehamirtha Sebastian for 2nd Runner Up. The Golden Voice award was presented to Sivanya Sajimon, and the Rocking Performance of the Day was awarded to Taushini Deepak Palan.

As for the Senior Category the winner was Shruthi Sethuraman, followed by Kanak Singh as 1st Runner Up and Manal Ahmed Khan as 2nd Runner Up. The Golden Voice award was also bagged by Shruthi Sethuraman, and the Rocking Performance of the Day was Divyansh Maghnani.

All in all, Global Indian Stars 2021 was a great success, with a great bunch of participants showcasing their hard work, dedication and talent.
