GIIS has always emphasised the importance of taking initiatives towards positive environmental impact, aligning with the United Nations sustainable development goals. For this, the school has organised numerous events and activities across campuses. In its latest endeavour, the entire staff from the GIIS East Coast campus joined hands for a beach clean-up activity organised along the shores of Singapore’s beach.

The activity was conducted on March 25, 2022, to commemorate the 20 glorious years of the Global Schools Foundation (GSF). The deluge of plastic and other trash being regurgitated by the ocean has propelled the school to take up this initiative.

It was as an incredibly special day for the staff as they took part in the activity enthusiastically and are excited for the next scheduled beach clean-up day. GIIS believes taking part in such activities will help protect one of our most precious, natural resources—our oceans at the same time it will help the school to take initiative towards nurturing the environment.
