East Coast students partake in an enriching ecotourism trip to Malaysia

Grade 6-8 students from the GIIS East Coast Campus recently went on an ecotourism trip to Pontian/Kukup, Malaysia. The trip aimed to provide students with a rich learning experience outside the classroom, where they explored the local culture, cuisines, and popular sightseeing places.

During their trip, the students visited a local orphanage where they interacted with the students and made kind donations of stationery and other necessities. They also got the opportunity to engage in cultural exchanges with the locals and develop various life skills, such as communication and adaptability.

The students also visited a few noteworthy places in the town, including the Nictar Pineapple Park, where they learned about nature, ecology, and farming activities. They also visited the township of Pontian and explored the creative street murals, and explored the fishing town of Kukup, and Tanjung Piai, the Southernmost of mainland Asia.

Overall, the trip was a fruitful and enriching experience for the students, as they returned home with cherished memories, valuable insights, and enhanced life skills that will help them in their future endeavours. The trip was aligned with GIIS' commitment to providing platforms for students to explore their potential beyond classroom learning and nurturing them holistically.
