East Coast Campus teachers benefit from WWF Vermicomposting Workshop

Teachers at the GIIS East Coast Campus got an excellent opportunity to attend a vermicomposting workshop organised by WWF on March 10. The educators gained hands-on experience with vermicomposting, learning how to transform daily food waste into organic fertilizer.

The teachers explored the roles and responsibilities of individuals when it comes to climate change and how vermicomposting can leave a positive global impact. The school plans to compost its food waste and observe how long it takes the worms to break it down. They also intend to collect worm castings to gain insights into the worm's life cycle and estimate how many worms come out of each casing.

Overall, it was a great experience for the teachers who gained valuable insights into sustainable practices. This initiative is in line with the school’s commitment to training teachers in contributing towards green initiatives taken by various organisations, aligning with the school's objective of promoting sustainable practices.
