East Coast Campus students participate in special Republic Day assembly

GIIS East Coast Campus celebrated the 74th Republic Day of India with full enthusiasm on Jan 25. The school campus was buzzing with excited students as they prepared to showcase their patriotism and love for their country. The students presented a grand Republic Day Assembly, commemorating the special occasion and sharing about the significance of this day in front of the entire school community.

 

The students came dressed in the colours of the Indian flag, standing tall and proud to display their love for their motherland. The flag-hoisting ceremony was the perfect start to an unforgettable day as the entire school community stood at attention and saluted the flag. The national anthem of India filled the air with patriotism.

 

Students from the Hindi department spoke in Hindi about how the constitution was drafted in 1950 and the number of Articles included in the Indian Constitution to make it the largest constitution in the world. A speech in English was delivered with vigor and gusto, affirming the importance of Republic Day for Indians. The school choir performed a melodious, patriotic song that left everyone with goosebumps and a sense of pride in their hearts. Another highlight of the day was the classical dance performance by the students. 

 

The event concluded with the National Anthem of Singapore, and it left everyone with a feeling of unity and brotherhood. Celebrations like this at GIIS bring the entire school community together and instills a sense of pride and nationalism among the students.
