"Dear Friends,
On the commencement of the GS20 or Global Schools 20th year anniversary celebrations, we extend our warmest greetings and best wishes to the GIIS East Coast campus family.
We also thank each and every student, parent and teacher fraternity for supporting GIIS East Coast to reach this incredible milestone of success.
GIIS East coast is one of our finest campuses where the faculty, staff, students and parents are fully tuned in to all that the school has to offer in terms of excellence in education.
The GIIS East campus, under leadership of Mr CVK Shastri and his highly accomplished team of Coordinators, has carved a niche for itself as one of the top schools not only in Singapore but in the Asian region as well.
Our GIIS East coast campus is the flag bearer of our core values which stand not just for excellence in academics, but also in extracurricular activities.
GIIS East coast students are connecting with the community, and nurturing with universal values like environment sustainability and kindness in students.
Today, GIIS East coast has become truly the school of the future and is admired by all educators and leaders from around the world and not just from Asia.
Our GIIS East Coast Campus has been a legacy school with a rich history of sports-focused education to its credit.
I remember Dr Balaji Sadasivan, who officiated the opening ceremony for our East coast campus, said that this campus was possibly Singapore’s first Sports campus with a full 440 meter running track.
And that he himself had studied at the same East Coast campus during his school years.
The quaint and green space has been nurturing happy students for the last 4 decades.
Each of our schools in GIIS East Coast have been hailed as future-ready, which provides maximum benefit and opportunities to students of 45 nationalities.
The amount of support for academic, emotional, social and individual needs is noteworthy and often hailed for the benefit it provides in the long run.
We have ensured that students get the 21st century education they deserve, through skill-based opportunities.
Data analytics, which is creating a great buzz in every industry around the world, is also at the heart of our framework, providing the much needed insights and impetus for student success.
The GIIS East coast students migrating to Grade 10 and 12 at sister campus have shown results for 2020 and 2021, that despite pandemic and the virtual classroom studies routine, our students have excelled beyond expectations.
This year was historic for the GIIS students who had 16 world toppers in IB DP.
Till date GIIS has produced over 70 students as IB toppers and near perfect scores and over 130 students getting A stars in IGCSE Grade 10 exams.
This is truly an inspirational and awesome performance and we wish to congratulate all our graduated students on their fantastic achievements.
The GIIS East coast students who moved to sister campuses have continuously maintained 100% results in decisive Grade 10th and 12th grades.
The school averages have topped 38.81 for IB and have been moving upwards year on year.
Our GIIS East coast Alumni have been a constant source of pride for the school as well.
With a strong foundation that the GIIS East Coast has provided them, many have gone to top universities to pursue higher education, and have done exceptionally well for themselves.
Our most illustrious alumni is indeed Nishi Anand, who went on to study at Harvard Business School and eventually started her career at Boston Consultancy, before venturing out on her own.
She has been giving back to the school in so many ways, which just goes to show how much she respects the teachers and the school’s pedagogy.
Then there is Kanika Gakhar, the IB student who went to MIT, and was handpicked to join an internship at the SpaceX programme of Elon Musk. Jayasimha Pasumarthy started his own financial startup in India, and many others are pursuing careers in diverse fields.
This is just to name a few. Aside from these students, there are many more GIIS East Coast students who have achieved several accolades in every possible field.
Some have even seen their achievements getting mentioned on the Global School News website which has become a great place to showcase our students' talents.
We are confident that every single GIIS East coast student, just like their Alumni, will make all their parents and teachers proud.
We are also thankful to the parents who have worked tirelessly and in tandem with the faculty to make all our student programmes a huge success.
This wonderful collaboration between the GIIS East coast parent community and teachers has led to some amazing accolades and accomplishments like the wins in inter-school contests and national events.
I am sure very soon we will hear more achievements from our students in the years to come.
The GIIS East coast campus has lived up to its name as a great school for sports, which is evident from the student achievements on the sports field.
Students like athlete and fencer Ashley Moe made it to the National Levels, while the EC cricket team has been emerging champions in Singapore for the last two years.
All these achievements by students are only adding to the reputation of GSF schools as a great place for all round student development.
Many parents have acknowledged this fact, and expressed their satisfaction at the way the school framework is helping their wards shape into global citizens.
Safety criteria was also achieved by GIIS East Coast which is evident from certification for ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
Today, as GIIS East coast students and teachers commence this iconic year with their celebrations, let us all join and give them a big round of virtual applause and wish them the very best for their year long celebrations."
