The halls of GIIS Dubai were alive with vibrant colours, imaginative costumes, and the joyful buzz of children celebrating English Week. The highlight of the week was the much-anticipated Book Character Parade, an event that saw students of Grades 1 and 2 transform into their favourite storybook characters, bringing the magic of their beloved tales to life.
On the morning of the parade, the school grounds were abuzz with excitement. Young students arrived dressed in a stunning array of costumes, each one more creative and elaborate than the last. From classic characters like Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan to modern favourites like Harry Potter and Elsa from Frozen, the diversity of characters showcased the wide range of stories that capture young imaginations.
Each student proudly carried the book that inspired their costume, adding an extra layer of authenticity and connection to their character. The sight of children holding their cherished books close as they paraded around the school grounds was heartwarming and served as a powerful reminder of the joy and importance of reading.
As English Week came to a close, the Book Character Parade left a lasting impression on everyone involved. It was more than just a fun activity; it was a celebration of stories and the endless possibilities they offer. By stepping into the shoes of their favourite characters, the students of Grades 1 and 2 not only paid tribute to the books they love but also embraced the joy of reading in a truly magical way.
