GIIS, Dubai organized Math week encouraging students of Grade 1 to develop an interest in Math from an early age. Celebration of Math Week gives the children a golden opportunity to showcase their knowledge of mathematical concepts, thinking, analytical and application skills. Participating in math week activities also encourage young learners to even pursue a career in math.

The Department of Mathematics at GIIS, Dubai encouraged students to be a part of various thought - provoking and skill - building math oriented activities. The objective of Math Week was to create interest in Math and assist students to be mathematically literate. The activities included Sudoku, Math - e - Magic where students placed the numbers inside the box using simple tricks and calculations, Matific Fashion where students attached charts of numbers and calculations on their outfits along with interesting problem solving activities. The Math Week highlighted the importance of encouraging students to think of math in a new way.
