Students of Grade 1 to 11 at GIIS, Dubai explored the summer holidays with exhilarating discoveries and learning experiences through Metaverse-AI – Robotics-Space (MARS) Discovery Summer camp organized by the department of Global Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GCIE). The program was mentored by Mr.Siju Philip, a NASA certified Aeronaut-X Educator, PGT- Robotics and Embedded Systems (AI based) and a Metaverse Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR) content creator. The camp focused on developing the technological knowledge and skills of students in Metaverse and coding , AI Robotics and Space Science.
To ensure age-appropriate learning, the camp was conducted in three batches for Explorers (Gr 1 to 3 ); Discoverers (Grade 4 to 7 ) and Creators (Grade 8 to 11). Students were guided to create Metaverse co-spaces and collaborate using VR and immersive technology devices along with Astrobotics kits. Students also got introduced to the immersive and engaging world of VR and AR. Children explored various science topics and real world space experiences from rocket launching to landing.
The event also included Metaverse content creation by designing a metaverse space with 3D models, AI based App creations and coding for AI Robotics with 3D printed models focusing on sustainable agriculture methods. Students of grades 8 to 11 were introduced to the world of digital currencies and NFTs. The session included the pros and cons of Cryptocurrencies and Block chain technology, how to earn and own digital assets and Metaverse free gas fees as a part of the summer camp . The camp concluded with a lot of new learnings and memories with both onsite and online learnings .
