Global Student Exchange Programme

Topic- Climate, Weather, and Seasons

GIIS Dubai & GIIS Bannerghatta students from grade 5 experienced a wonderful opportunity in the Global Student Exchange program. Students from both the campuses’ expressed their views on - Climate, Weather, and Seasons. The students of Bannerghatta Campus initiated their topic by discussing how changes in climate alter many properties of the ocean. The focus was also on how to save our planet by controlling climate change. 

GIIS Dubai campus students then spoke on the geographic location and the desert climate with hot summers and mild winters. The appearance of flora and fauna is also seen in abundance even if it is covered in the sandy deserts.

Cloud seeding and Hydroponics were also explained and how popular it is in UAE as there is hardly any rainfall. The last part of the session was covered by the Bannerghatta campus giving details on how climate affects aviation. Flight plans are developed based on weather conditions. All the students delivered their part to its best and raised questions for the exchange of knowledge. This developed their skill of communication and interaction with each other that added to a successful end.?

Topic - Cultural Heritage 

 International learning and knowledge propels students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives!!

Students of GIIS Dubai had their first Global Student Exchange Program (GSE) of Season 2 with GIIS HADAPSAR (Pune, India) on Cultural Heritage. Students of grade 4 of both the campuses came together to exchange their ideas about the cultural heritage of their respective countries.

Grade 4 students Eshaan Najeem, Sai Sumana Ghanta, Kaanav Jaiswal and Naisha Sharma represented the Dubai Campus. It was a highly interactive and interesting session as both the teams were able to understand the essence of the different cultures.

The program started with an introductory speech by both Principals Mr. Ramesh Mudgal (Dubai)and Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna ( Hadapsar).

The students of HADAPSAR campus presented the culture and heritage of Maharashtra through an engaging skit while the students of Dubai campus introduced the culture of UAE with a beautiful Arabic poem, the rich heritage of the UAE which comprises of tradional architecture, sports, occupations, traditions, arts, crafts, food, places of historical and archeological importance, lifestyle and values imbibed in Islam.

The students concluded the presentation by emphasizing on the responsibility of each student to appreciate the culture and heritage of different places as we are living in a Global World. This will help students become not only more open-minded but also be considerate to other people’s way of life which will in turn help us to become more tolerant and understanding of each other.

The children of both the campuses desired to know more about their respective places and had questions for their friends which were eagerly answered!!
