GIIS Dubai - Activities in primary

GIIS LEAPS

GIIS LEAPS organized by GIIS Hadapsar campus on 28th January 2021 was an excellent platform for students to participate and exchange ideas across borders. Such programs improve teamwork and collaboration, enhance social and emotional learning and help to understand different cultures.

Many interesting competitions were conducted for different grades. Grade 9 students of GIIS DUBAI participated in the Intellectual Combat, Words Matter, Startup Enterprise Challenge, Oodles of Doodles. Students across the grades from 1-9 participated in various competitions with great enthusiasm.

GIIS DUBAI Team, Hridhaan Rajani from grade-1, bagged the First position in the Oodles and Doodles competition.

 REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS

Our school celebrated India’s 72th Republic Day with great éclat. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The program began at 8:30am. Principal, Supervisor, Staff and students were present for the flag hoisting ceremony. Our Principal, Mr Ramesh Mudgal hoisted the Indian National flag, the students saluted the flag and pledged to uphold the honor and integrity. 

The students brought the event alive with their passion and love for their motherland through their speech, followed by a song from the choir group and a patriotic dance by teachers and students. The program ended with a surprise performance from Punjabi folk Bhangra dancers. 

The students dispersed with the image of the fluttering tricolor in their mind and heart. May we continue celebrating this day forever!

Mission Math Program

Mission Maths program is targeted to help students imbibe mathematical skills in their daily life. These activities are conducted on alternate weeks for Grades 1-8.

Geometry and Measurement were the core of the Math Mission Activities this month. Students set up shops – STOP SHOP, to understand the concept of retail, buying, selling and money matters

Measurement assisted students to measure and create cooking recipes, to understand that cooking is applied with Mathematical skills.Symmetry is an important part of learning Math. This helps students to understand concepts of geometry and fractions with ease. 

Several activities were conducted to ensure that the students completed several concepts with deeper understanding, which created real life links with cross curricular links.
