Kindergarten students of GIIS, Dubai celebrated Earth Day through a reflective line of activities. The children learnt to reduce water usage while brushing their teeth, switch off lights when not inside the room, not to waste paper to avoid cutting off more trees and follow a sustainable approach in their daily routine.

Students were dressed up in green, blue and brown color attires that represented earth. They were introduced and given first-hand experience to the concept of 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Children deposited the things brought from home into the designated bins and crowned themselves with a headgear demonstrating 3 R's. They visited the Al Boustan area in the school premises to understand how plantations help in protecting the Earth. The students also designed paper butterflies sharing the relevance of preserving the beauty of the planet.

The activities focused on important areas of personality growth of the students by encouraging the art and craft skills, language development, emotional development and fostered the holistic development of the students.
