GIIS Dubai organized a Breast Cancer awareness campaign where students of grades 3 to 5 participated in various activities to spread awareness among the school community. The activities helped students take an active role in developing a better sense of responsibility in society.

Students participated in a handprint activity where they designed pink ribbons to symbolize breast cancer awareness. Children were also encouraged to write compassionate messages on the ribbons. School doctor Ishwarya hosted a session where students learned about the importance of identifying breast cancer symptoms along with teaching students to be socially responsible.

GIIS Dubai identifies socially responsible learning as a critical component of education. The school incorporates various initiatives on self-awareness, empathy, and social skills into the curricula to help students better manage various challenges of life and be aware of them. The breast cancer awareness week organized for primary grade students ensured that students are imparted the right values through a socially responsible learning environment.
