INDIA, 7 DECEMBER, 2018 - The year 2018 was the ninth year of the Real World Challenges Convention that saw participation from all GIIS campuses across Asia, UAE and Japan. Students from all the campuses of GIIS India i.e. Noida, Indore, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Balewadi (Pune), Surat, and Chinchwad (Pune) participated with commendable energies and preparation that swept off victory for them in various categories of the convention.

This year the Real World Challenges convention was aimed at bringing together students onto a platform that encourages them to network with other students and find a viable solution to problems that can possibly help in bettering the living scenario in and around their community, city or otherwise. Our students collaborated together and formed teams to express their ideas in form of Quality Circle Presentations (QCP), Transformation Turncoat, OPUS, App Creation, Game Creation, and so on and so forth.

The theme for this year’s event was "Technology for NextGen" that brought students together to celebrate creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship and put forward a variety of talent on stage. Not only students, but teachers too were brought along to sustain the same enthusiasm and capabilities in teaching and learning. Prof. Aurobindo Ghosh from Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University graced the event with his presence as the Guest of Honour.

Around 500 students across all GIIS campuses took part in the convention that was open for students from K2 to Grade 12. There were two sets of categories i.e. pre-judged and on the spot events. Little did we know that our students had so much of talent and skills to showcase on global platform and win accolades for the GIIS India schools. Since this year’s theme was based on technology, our students came up with great Apps and game inventions that exhibited their exceptional coding and developing abilities.

Having made a mark in 9 pre-judged events, here's the result sheet of 4 on-the-spot events in which our students again bagged laurels at this international stage that gave them exposure, experience and attitude to become unique in their own special way:

We had judges from all walks of life to observe our students on their efforts and calibre; our students were adjudged on rubrics like presentation, clarity of thought, topic chosen, ability to convince the audience, audience response, etc.  The judges did a commendable job as they closely observed each entry and then decided on the winner, first and second runners up spots.

Here’s congratulating all the winning teams and a big thank you to our ever constant patrons - our parents, staff and teachers who have worked hard in preparing our students for tomorrow.

A big congratulations to all the participants and winners. Their glory has undoubtedly made us proud and delighted.
