Dear Parent,
“September seemed like a long-lasting festival at GIIS Whitefield. Events, activities, victories, and exams, it had all the elements. Each segment was up to some activities throughout the month and students got multiple opportunities to unravel their true potential………….”
- Mr. Ashwani Kumar Saxena, Principal, GIIS Whitefield
The month of September was quite busy for GIIS Whitefield and I would like to congratulate all the students for balancing their academics and extracurricular pursuits just perfectly and securing achievements in every field. The main highlight of the month was definitely the Annual Awards Day where we felicitated the meritorious students who secured outstanding results in the last academic year. It was indeed an encouraging and inspiring occasion for everyone to watch the achievers receive merit certificates and trophies for their unflinching determination and hard work.
Starting the month with Teacher’s Day, the whole school gathered to celebrate the contributions of our lovely teachers and lauded them for their outstanding service. Every celebration at GIIS Whitefield is different from the other and the unique feature of this Teacher’s Day celebration was the fact that it was celebrated twice! Our Secondary students organised a beautiful ceremony later in the month to make their lovely teachers feel special and enjoy a day dedicated to them watching splendid cultural programmes and participating in fun games.
Primary students organised a magnificent event on the occasion of Hindi Diwas to honour and celebrate its lingual beauty and also highlight its significance as the official language of our country. The star-studded ceremony comprised of various programmes like- fashion show, dancing, and singing where students expressed their respect and love for the language in the most spectacular ways and encouraged everyone to use this beautiful language more often in their day-to-day lives.
It was a proud moment for us to record two remarkable students’ achievements this month. While our Grade 11 student, Nikhil Abraham brought home laurels with his exceptional performance in the 26th National Sport Climbing Competition and winning Silver and Bronze medals in the Lead and Bouldering disciplines, Adrija Mani from Grade 5 continued the winning streak by bagging the U-11 & U-13 Open State Junior Badminton Tournament, organized by Urban Shuttler. I congratulate both the sports champs for their big wins and wish both of them the very best for their upcoming endeavours.
Preprimary’s STEAM WEEK was another thrilling activityin the school which was all about fuelling the scientific and technological aptitudes of our tiny tots through intriguing experiments and exercises. With each day of the week dedicated to one branch of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics), kids had a great time participating in various stimulating activities and understanding different concepts of the subjects in the most fun-filled ways.
Continuing the celebrations around the outstanding performance of Grade 11 students, we awarded them the GIIS Global Future Ready Merit Scholarship and lauded their hard work and determination in a grand way in the presence of their parents and teachers at the school campus.
I heartily congratulate all the students for reaching another milestone in their academic journey and wish them all the best for their bright futures.
Lastly, we conducted another career counselling session with Mindler for Grade 11 & 12 students where the guest speaker- Mr. Abhishek Gulati shared great insights on college and course selection strategies and also took the students through the university application process in detail. The interactive session involved discussions on many related topics and helped students obtain a better understanding of the various career paths available for them.
Overall, this month was full of exciting occurrences and I look forward to all the events and activities that will be unfolded in the upcoming months.
