A game of quiz for children is often considered an interactive way of learning and sharing knowledge. ‘Quizzards of GIIS’ was the first Virtual Inter-GIIS Quiz competition organized by GIIS Whitefield for KG 2 kids. It was a superb session, putting up a good test of memory, observation, speed, and presence of mind showcased by the KG 2 kids of GIIS campuses in Ahmedabad, Noida, Balewadi, Bannerghatta, Hadapsar, Surat, and Whitefield. The Chief Guest was Ms. Vaishali Borde (National Head Co-Scholastic & Early Years (GMP), GIIS India). The guests of honor were Mr. Ashwani Kumar Saxena (Principal, GIIS Whitefield) and Ms. Preetha D’Mello (Head Mistress, Pre Primary, GIIS Whitefield).
Ms. Vaishali Borde motivated all the children. She said quizzing is one way of making sure that learning becomes fun. Quizzes as ‘Quizzards of GIIS’ is specifically made for KG 2 children which will increase their self-confidence, self-esteem and also support individual learning among children.
GIIS Whitefield shared the FIRST position with GIIS Ahmedabad and GIIS Hadapsar. GIIS Bannerghatta came SECOND and GIIS Balewadi team was THIRD.
GIIS Whitefield was represented by Lakshya Jain and Rithvik Rajesh. The cute ones were sharp, quick, and smart all through the Quiz. They were thoughtful and at the same time prompt in answering the questions intelligently.
It was a good quiz competition with 14 participants (a team of 2) from each GIIS campus. There were 4 rounds including the tie-breaker round. The mind-teaser I SPY round comprised of Literacy (English) and Numeracy (Math) questions. While in the sensorial Audio-Visual round kids identified people and characters through pictures displayed on the screen and sound played. The rapid-fire round had questions based on General Knowledge and Cultural studies. When all the teams were scoring equally, the tie-breaker round was needed to decide the winner, resulting in not one but 3 campuses sharing the winners' position.
Ms. Preetha D’Mello shared the Vote of Thanks, with sincere gratitude to all Principals, teachers, and parents for their continuous support and a very special mention of the quiz masters. She congratulated all the children for their fantastic participation and considered all of them as winners of the quiz.
