Being an Indian, whenever we get to hear the mention of this song, ‘Bharat humko jaan se pyaara hai, Sabse nyaara gulistaan hamara hai’, there is so much pride and respect for our Nation. Imagine when patriotic songs are sung by the tiny cute nuggets of kindergarten, the rhythm of the song and patriotism elates to a different level altogether. This was the feeling when the Pre Primary children of GIIS Whitefield planned a lovely event.

GIIS Whitefield Pre Primary department organized the ‘Incredible India Patriotic Song Competition’ for Nursery, KG 1 and KG 2 children via the Zoom webinar. The true spirit of being an Indian was celebrated by the students who performed as well as all in the virtual audience. Even though a competition, it was so fantastic to watch and listen to the Encompassing Solo Musical Performances from our little cherubs. The confidence in their tone, the clarity of the lyrics, and the little joyful actions added true magic to the patriotic songs sung by the kids.

Ms. Vaishali Borde (Head–National Co-Scholastic & GMP, GIIS India), the Guest of Honour, ushered loads of love and praises for the little cherubs who were all set to give a vibrant performance through the virtual medium. She was so happy to be part of the competition, more like a celebration of the 74 years of Independence.

Ms. Preetha D’ Mello (Head Mistress, Pre Primary, GIIS Whitefield ) congratulated all the participants as she believed each child was a star and their confidence was commendable. 

A special mention to the three teachers - Nisha Goradia, Sonaman Bandoghati, and Swapnali Pimparkar who were blessed with gratitude from all the parents for organizing such a beautiful and enchanting event that brought the young singers on-stage.

The judges for the competition – Ms. Sangeeta Gaur (Classical Vocalist, Music, and Dance), Neha Sanghavi (Hindustani Vocalist, Music, and Dance) definitely had a challenging task to declare the winners as every child was as such a winner.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants. Patriotic songs seemed all the more dear to everyone who witnessed the competition through the virtual medium. Parents opened their hearts full of appreciation and congratulated the teachers for the well-organized programme to boost the hidden talent of the little ones.
