The toughest paths look a lot easier once you are determined to reach the goal and have trust in your capabilities. Confidence and optimism are two of the most important accessories for any student who wishes to excel beyond the set limits, and sometimes, our students make us wonder whether there actually is anything such as limits! Global Little Star’22 was one such event where students from many renowned schools gathered on one virtual platform and took our breaths away with their amazing talents and left us in awe of their spectacular performances.
GIIS Whitefield organized Global Little Stars’22 on 5th march 2021 and provided many kids, with an opportunity to unlock their hidden talents. This annual event is an initiative from our side to help kids from across different schools come together and showcase their skills on a grand stage and gain recognition. It was our honor to invite the esteemed judges- Ms. Katie Bagli & Ms. Trina Roy to this event, who not only judged the performances but also graced the occasion with their kind and encouraging words. Hearing the words of appreciation coming from these distinguished leaders filled the children with enthusiasm and helped them put their best foot forward.
GLS’22 was conducted in two rounds where the finalists performing live on the final day were chosen by the judges based on their pre-recorded submission clips and given a chance to channel their inner performers in front of the audience. By the end of this exciting show, all the participants secured certificates of participation and many of them secured positions competing with their peers. Their gleaming smiles were enough to tell how much they enjoyed this event and the appreciation from parents, judges, and the audience doubled our happiness.
The event began with a short and sweet address by our respected principal- Mr. Ashwani Kumar Saxena, followed by a brief tour of our school’s SMART campus. First in the competition lineup was the Tech Hero- Toy-Making Challenge, where second-graders recreated fun toys and gathered loads of appreciation for their creativity. Next was Dance Duo Competition and kids along with their parents danced to the energizing Bollywood beats which compelled us to tap our feet as well. Kids also competed with each other in the Museum Dress-up Challenge and recreated the looks of famous historical characters and personalities while explaining their inspiring life stories.
Raise your mic was indeed the highlight of the event where children presented melodious singing performances and spellbound everyone with their sweet voices. The last competition of this gala event was Talking Titans and students leveraged their speaking skills to deliver enriching speeches on topics picked by them.
It was the immeasurable support and efforts of our teachers and participants’ parents that drove GLS’22 to staggering success. In the end, we would also like to thank and congratulate the participants who definitely played the most important role in making this event grand. Keep shining and polishing your skills. We are proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see you conquer the world!
