We at GIIS, always encourage our students to meet their peers from outside, connect with them, and indulge in a collaborative learning process. This way our students expand their scope of learning and take effective steps towards becoming global leaders. To boost our mission further, we organized a virtual extravaganza of culture that helped our students interact with their friends from Abu Dhabi and share the essence of their respective countries.

GIIS Whitefield hosted Global Connect Series 2021 on the topic “People and Places” on 16th November 2021. Pre-primary tots from both the campuses enthusiastically welcomed the honorable guest- Ms. Vaishali Borde, Principal GIIS Whitefield- Mr. Ashwani Kumar Saxena, Principal GIIS Abu Dhabi- Ms. Heena Rachh, and other teachers and faculty guests. The webinar started with our Headmistress Ms. Preetha D’Mello welcoming everybody on this thrilling ride. After a short address by our beloved Principal sir and Guest of honor, the real fun started, where the little munchkins from GIIS Whitefield commenced the presentation. Divided in a team of two, students explained everything from flag, currency, and geography to food, tourism, and lifestyle of Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and India. They were dressed in beautiful attires representing the traditional clothing of every country.

After the presentation from Whitefield kids, it was time for students from GIIS Abu Dhabi to showcase their exceptional presentation skills and blow our minds. They wonderfully explained about the United Arab Emirates and took us on a journey through all its main aspects. We were all familiarized with the county’s history, geography, architecture, cuisine, prevailing traditions, religious disposition, and much more. It was an extremely illuminating presentation by the little ones.

The most exciting part of this webinar was the “KBC quiz session” conducted at the end of each presentation. Kids from one campus tested the knowledge of their friends from the other campus and it was surprising to see how quickly the cherubs grasped all the information passed on to them by their mates and answered every question with accuracy. 

Global Connect Series 2021 was unquestionably a grand success and we already can’t wait to hosting it again and having a blast like this time. We congratulate all the students who participated in this one-of-a-kind, educational and enlightening session and wish them all the best for their bright futures.
