Global Indian International School, Whitefield won laurels at the first-ever conducted virtual Global Excellence Day initiated by the GIIS Singapore on the occasion of GIIS Foundation Day on 18th September 2020. The basic concept of Global Excellence Day was to promote and celebrate quality and service excellence in GIIS schools. Global Excellence Day was conducted as a global Quality circle / Best Practice competition within the GIIS campuses for students as well as teacher/staff and was organised virtually. The participating campuses were Abu Dhabi, Ahmedabad, Bannerghatta, Balewadi, Surat, Hadapsar, Whitefield, Dubai, Tokyo, Punggol (Singapore), and East Coast (Singapore). The entire event was being spread over 17th and 18th September 2020. There were 2 categories of this competition: Middle School (Grade 5th to 8th) on 17th September 2020 and Seniors (Grade 9th upwards) on 18th September 2020.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CATEGORY ACHIEVEMENT
Under the Middle School Category, GIIS Whitefield Bangalore won the 'BEST TOPIC AWARD'. Their topic for Quality Circle was about “EVOLUTION OF PARENTING DURING COVID".
The participants for the MIDDLE SCHOOL CATEGORY were - Jonathan Rocky Noronha, Mugddha Bezbora, Yuvraj Singh, and their teacher Ms. Neha Ahuja. (Team Name: Trifecta)
Since parents are subject to many challenges during COVID time, as they are working, taking care of the family, and household chores without any domestic help, the new way of parenting with diverse tips was suggested to balance their professional and personal life.
SENIORS CATEGORY TRIUMPH
Under the Seniors Category GIIS, Whitefield Bangalore won the 'PLATINUM QC AWARD’. Ansh Gulati won the ‘BEST PRESENTER Award. Their topic for Quality Circle was around “EFFECTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA DURING COVID and ways to find a "BALANCED PERSPECTIVE TO LEAD HEALTHIER LIFESTYLES”.
The participants for the SENIOR SCHOOL CATEGORY were - Tanisha Khanagav, Ansh Gulati, and Samiksha Menon, supported by their teacher Ms. Sukhdeep Kaur. (Team Name: Proelia)
The team elaborated about the effects of increased exposure to social media, which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting the entire lifestyle. They proposed solutions to mitigate this issue and find a balanced perspective to lead healthier lifestyles.
Congratulations to both the teams for the excellent Quality Circle Presentations and adding more accolades for GIIS Whitefield.
