GIIS Whitefield Enhances Parental Involvement in Student Progress with My Learning Checkpoint

The Pre-Primary segment of GIIS Whitefield has launched an exciting new initiative called "My Learning Checkpoint." This parent-led progress tracker for KG2 students aims to involve parents in their children's education. Aligned with the National Education Policy, it will take place twice a year to support a well-rounded assessment process.

This innovative approach goes beyond traditional assessments by including parents’ observations, helping to create a complete picture of each child's abilities and development. It also strengthens the connection between home and school, fostering a supportive educational environment.

Parents received clear guidelines about the assessment's purpose and how to carry out the activities. They had a specific timeframe to complete the tasks and submit their observations using simple rubric sheets.

During the event, parents assessed their child’s understanding of fundamental concepts through fun and interactive stations created by our dedicated educators. These activities focused on key areas like numbers, letters, and themes, providing valuable insights into each child’s learning progress. Parents also observed their child's social interactions, communication skills, and motor skills through simple, engaging activities.

Both parents and students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, finding it meaningful and enriching. The "My Learning Checkpoint" initiative encourages active parental involvement and reinforces the importance of working together in education, ensuring every child at GIIS Whitefield gets the support they need to thrive.
