
The Global Schools' Exchange (GSE) programme has long been a catalyst for promoting collaboration, teamwork, and cross-cultural understanding among students. In today’s interconnected world, fostering global awareness, empathy, and respect is crucial. The GSE programme provides a unique opportunity for students to transcend national boundaries and engage in experiences that shape their worldview.
At GIIS Whitefield, the GSE programme has given students many opportunities to explore new ideas, develop important skills, and build global connections. Throughout 2024, students took part in a variety of activities that highlighted their creativity, critical thinking, and sense of global responsibility. Over two terms, these experiences not only enhanced their learning but also helped them better understand different cultures and global issues.
Term 1 Highlights: Creativity Meets Learning
One standout event in Term 1 was Mathematical Cuisine, where Grade 9 and 10 students blended mathematics with culinary arts, exploring the practical applications of math in a fun and engaging way.Students from the secondary segment also participated in the Vision India in 2050 event hosted by GIIS Ahmedabad, where they shared ideas for India’s future, fostering critical thinking and civic responsibility.
In the Tourist Brochure Design Competition at GIIS Balewadi, GIIS Whitefield students won first place by creating brochures that highlighted local attractions, blending creativity with cultural awareness.
A comprehensive project on the impact of streaming networks and social media on student health engaged Grades 11 and 12, fostering collaboration among six campuses.
Term 2 Highlights: Showcasing Talent
In Term 2, students demonstrated their creativity in the GSE Inter-School Essay Competition organized by Witty International School, showcasing exceptional writing skills.
Grade 9 and 10 students presented on Indian Politics and Dynasticism, encouraging critical discussions on political issues. They also competed in the GSE Periodic Table Quiz at Bannerghatta campus, testing their chemistry knowledge.
Grade 11 and 12 students showcased their entrepreneurial spirit by winning first place in the Entrepreneurship Pitch competition at Glendale International School.
Through these activities, GIIS Whitefield students exemplify the core values of the GSE program, preparing to become responsible global citizens.
