15th August- The day India broke the chains of British colonial rule and took a breath in the air of freedom and independence; the day that brought hope and paved the path to the glorious future 75 years back, was celebrated with the same spirit and fervor at GIIS Whitefield. From kindergarteners, middle schoolers, and our senior students to teachers, and staff members, everybody was colored in the spirit of independence and pride towards our motherland and paid tribute to those brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the great nation we live in proudly today.

The 76th Independence Day celebration was a weeklong event at GIIS Whitefield where students from each grade participated in multiple activities to pay their respects towards the freedom fighters and motherland in the most creative ways. Right from Badge making, special assemblies, and flag making to composing patriotic poems, story-telling and creating bookmarks & posters, students expressed their love towards the country in multifarious ways.

The Pre Primary lot dressed up in beautiful ethnic attires and took part in class-wise assemblies to understand the significance of this auspicious occasion. Not only did they perform skits based on the great freedom fighters of India but also explain the role of every eminent leader in the freedom struggle that ignited the flame of patriotism in the hearts of audience.

The Primary and secondary segment assembled in the multipurpose hall to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and presented spectacular cultural performances to bring out the essence of the occasion. By the end of the event, our Principal sir- Mr Ashwani Kumar Saxena addressed the crowd with his inspiring words and delivered a moving speech that encapsulated the significance of Independence Day in the most magnificent way.
