74 years of freedom celebrated with respect, joy and pride at GIIS Whitefield

The 75th Independence Day was witnessed by all the students of GIIS Whitefield virtually and the spirit of patriotism was experienced in the best ways of expression.

There were interesting activities lined up for the youngest stars of Nursery, KG1 and KG2. The ‘Dress up as Freedom Fighters' activity was a humble tribute to our Freedom fighters where children were dressed up as freedom fighters and spoke for one minute about them. Each participant was awarded a participation certificate. The children enjoyed the National flag colouring activity and they even knew the significance of each colour. The yummy 'Chocolate milk' activity was intended to bring out Unity in diversity, in order to sensitize the kids to the virtues of equality, empathy and respect for all individuals, irrespective of their colour. The spirit of Nationalism became powerful through the Patriotic song mashup by the Pre-primary team, which was again a beautiful sign of respect and gratitude to the freedom fighters of India.

The 75th Independence Day festive glimpses from the Primary segment students reflect the true spirit of freedom and nationalism among the children. The celebration was online, yet the radiance as a proud Indian was seen in every face. Students performed beautiful dances and songs. They were told about the freedom struggle, the contribution of the freedom fighters and its importance through an engaging presentation. Along with that, the importance of our National flag was showcased with an educational video. This was followed by Special messages from the Principal, Ms Ashwani Kumar Saxena and the Academic Coordinator, Ms Jeelu Mary Varghese. They wished all the students and parents with inspiring words around freedom and the importance of this precious asset that Indians cherish because of the sacrifices made by great leaders to help us live a life full of choices. The kids enjoyed and had a lot of fun as they participated in the various Independence day activities such as flag, bookmark and badge making around the theme of our tricolour flag.
