Remembering past struggles and cherishing the freedom today

Independence Day gives us an opportunity to unite - through diversity in language and culture, we are united as children of Mother India. GIIS Bannerghatta SMART Campus celebrated Nation’s 75th Independence Day in the true spirit of patriotism. The honourable Principal ma’am started the day by hoisting the National Flag in the school premises followed by a virtual celebration of Independence Day connecting the teachers, staff, students and parents to bask in the spirit of patriotism. The show was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest - Mr Kishore Singh Chauhan, a multifaceted personality who has straddled the fields of Defence, Scouting, Sports, Games, Marketing, Films and Theatre and the recipient of many international and national awards. The special guest was Capt. Dr Dinisha Bhardwaj, Principal GIIS Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia who was another apt choice to grace the show with her disciplined life proving an inspiration to one and all.

On this momentous occasion, the little minds of GIIS Bannerghatta celebrated Independence Day with various activities created with pride and love for the nation. Grade 1 students crafted a Tricolour flower with their little hands which reminded everyone of the courage, peace and serenity of our great nation, India. Grade 2 students came out with different activities wherein they depicted their love for the nation. Be it the rubrics’ cube design of our National Flag or the balloon decoration, the song sung or the music played in on the keyboard brought out the spirit of oneness within us. Grade 3 also displayed their innovative skills by recreating the National Flag with several edible items like pulses, vegetables, sandwiches, etc. It was a colourful act with many creative genius showcasing their talents.

Grade 4 students presented a dance, song, role play and a skit on the life of brave Rani Lakshmi Bai. Students of Grade 5 delivered a speech and sang a patriotic song to kindle the spirit of patriotism. Performance on the drums and some immaculate anchoring done by students of Grade 6 was the highlight of the show.
