March heralds the joy of new achievements

Dear Parents,

We March because Spring is in the air!  With flowers blooming all over we welcome the beautiful season ahead with open arms. March is the busiest month of the school calendar and at GIIS Bannerghatta, we have the excitement of launching the new examination portal – Eklavya giving the students the feel of online exams in the comfort of their homes. With its AI-enabled proctoring technology, we have led the way in the arena of online examinations and this is surely going to a step in the right direction and a grand culmination of all our efforts in the virtual space throughout this academic year. As I look back, on the year gone by, my heart swells with pride and gratitude for all that we have achieved despite the hurdles.

Awards keep adorning our shelves and GIIS Bannerghatta makes winning a habit, we recently added another to the ever-growing list with the “ World Education Summit Award”  with this the GSF Foundation has reached yet another milestone and there are surely many more to come.

The Pre-Primary K2 students recently celebrated their Graduation Day and it was a matter of pride to see the students beaming with joy and stepping into a new chapter in their lives. They turned up in their best attire and graduated with poise and aplomb.

The INTACH activity conducted across the primary classes was a resounding success. Children took part with great enthusiasm through virtual tours and activities that made them learn about the heritage of their city, state, and country. Awareness of one’s culture and heritage is of paramount importance for today’s generation and children learnt facets to the culture that they had never seen.

A Women’s Day event was held for mothers of Grade 1 – 3. A fitting tribute to all the strong mothers who stand by their families with rock-solid determination. It was a testimony to the bond that the school shares with the parents and students, the teachers along with the fathers and kids planned a surprise for all the Glorious Queen Mothers be it with a display of culinary skills, ramp walks, and creating lovely hand -made cards and reciting poetry.

A Mock United Nations (MUN) activity was conducted virtually for students of Grade 5 on a very relevant topic: Health Infrastructure Readiness in the event of another pandemic. Students participated with gusto like true delegates and learnt how to effectively put forth their thoughts and opinions thereby enhancing their oratory skills and was an attempt to get them closer to real-world issues.

I would like to thank each and every child and parent who made this challenging year seem like a cakewalk for us. It is with your support that we were able to set sail smoothly.

Regards,

Dr. Sharmila Mallick Choudhuri
