July came with a string of joyous events at GIIS Bannerghatta

“To learn means to evolve and learning extends to one’s life without being restricted to any particular realm. It is boundless and completely depends on a person’s will to learn and grow. So learn as much as you can, look challenges in the eye, and get rid of the fear of failure. Each step down, is a testament of your strong determination and fortitude.”

                                   - Dr. Sharmila Mallick Chodhuri, Principal, GIIS Bannerghatta

July was a great month for GIIS Bannerghatta as our students got a lot of opportunities to learn and excel in various fields.

Starting the month with National Doctors’ Day celebration, GIIS Bannerghatta organised a free Health Check-up camp in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals where many of our parents and staff members availed the opportunity of receiving thorough examinations and consultations from physician doctors. I thank all the doctors for dedicating their day and service for this event which indeed cultivated health awareness among our student and parent community.

Our tiny tots are having a gala time at the campus with all the creative and engaging exercises coming up as part of their classroom activities. Messy Day was the first activity of the month for them as they got an opportunity to explore their sense of touch and strengthened their fine motor skills while playing and messing around with corn starch and paint and having lot of fun with their friends and teachers.

Another exhilarating event for Pre-primary wonders was the Red Day celebration where they were introduced to the significance of this primary colour through various activities that gave them a chance to showcase their creativity and imagination.

On the occasion of Van Mahotasav, our Grade 6-8 students participated in planting and environment awareness activities with great zeal and enthusiasm and also distributed saplings among our school's support staff encouraging everyone to take steps towards conservation, preservation, and restoration of the environment.

Have you ever attended a puppet show as a kid? How fun it is to watch the funny characters talk in different voices and I for one, absolutely love them! Our Pre-primary kids too were able to experience the same joy watching the story of “The Three Little Pigs” through a fun Puppet Show conducted by our teachers which was undoubtedly a visual treat for all. Similarly, they had a great time learning during Good Health and Hygiene Week too where each day of the week was dedicated to learning and performing specific hygiene practices and the tiny tots enthusiastically participated in all the exercises to understand the vitality of these habits in staying hale and healthy.

We concluded July with our first Investiture ceremony at the GREEN Campus. On this day, students were entrusted with titles and appointed as the members of students’ council to take the charge of different roles and responsibilities at school. With students marching radiantly in the presence of their parents and teachers, and donning their mantles of leadership and responsibility, this ceremony set a high note for the upcoming events at our school.

Warm Regards,
