Dear Parents,
The New Year has ushered in happiness galore. As the world is looking ahead to the “shot of hope” in the days to come, GIIS Bannerghatta got a “shot in the arm’’ with an award that added to the growing list. It gives me immense pleasure to share with you all that we won the prestigious Qualtech Qimpro Award for our project “Green Breakthrough” – Nature Befriends Global Education. We competed with the best names across various segments and came out tops. This just goes to reinforce the management’s vision of a futuristic green school and motivates us in the right direction.
Our campus organized the Interschool Global Little Stars competition which gave a platform for kids in the age groups of 3 to 7 and was a grand success. Children from renowned pre-schools and primary schools across Bengaluru mesmerized one and all with their sheer talent and charisma. We culminated the virtual event with an offline prize distribution ceremony where children were awarded with glittering trophies and certificates in the school premises. An effort towards normalcy but with all COVID protocols in place.
We continue on the path of holistic learning, though we are almost reaching the last lap of this year’s memorable virtual academic journey. We have marched on taking rapid strides in an endeavour to keep the students engaged and energized. The pre-primary classes started the month with “Citizenship Week” which successfully instilled in the little ones, the need to respect the institutions of our country, values like compassion, being a role model by carrying out humanitarian deeds were all taught to the kids in an effective manner.
The primary section continued with activities such as innovative and interactive online quizzing for Math, using the Expedition App to make the solar system visually stimulating for the students and so and so forth. The Thinking Thursday and Math Magic activities which are conducted monthly continued to enthrall the students and gave them “food for thought”. Children continue to “cook up a storm “in the culinary club and displayed their passion for emoting in the Theatre Club.
It has been a great start to the year. We wish to keep the momentum going.
Regards,
Dr. Sharmila Mallick Choudhuri
