“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
- Mahatma Gandhi
GIIS Bannerghatta concluded the month of August with great gaiety and joy as our Pre-primary tots celebrated Happiness Week with immense enthusiasm at the school campus. During this weeklong activity, kids were taught the lesson of celebrating the little joys in life in order to attain happiness in any situation.
Being happy is the ultimate goal of life. It takes a lot of introspection to learn the art of appreciating every little moment and overcoming the continuous emotional strife within oneself that might give an illusion of despair sometimes. The main idea behind celebrating Happiness week with Kindergartners was to introduce them to the intertwined relationship between happiness, mental & physical health, and spiritual wellness and encourage them to develop a positive attitude towards life as they grow up.
On the day 1 of this eventful activity, children enjoyed a picnic in the beautiful school compound and shared snacks with their peers to express their care and love towards each other. The second day was all about having fun in rain, and our tiny munchkins danced and sang their hearts out in artificial rain wearing colourful raincoats. On the third day, kids were thrilled to participate in a matinee show where they enjoyed watching their favourite movie in the AV room which was converted into a movie theatre with cold drink and popcorns stalls.
The last two days of this event were filled with exciting outdoor activities and art & craft exercises where students were given a chance to make a lovely gift for their loved ones. All in all, it was a memorable week for the kids where they got to know about the art of finding happiness in day-to-day life and learnt the importance of staying happy and joyful.
