"Planting trees is one of the kindest and most selfless deeds. You know it'll take years to grow and you might not be present to enjoy its offerings, but the fact that it'll be home to beautiful birds & creatures and provide shade to thousands of people in its lifetime will always bring peace to your heart"
-Dr. Sharmila Mallick Chodhuri, Principal, GIIS Bannerghatta
GIIS Bannerghatta has always been an advocate of facilitating students’ learning in a green environment. Our school ticks all the right boxes when it comes to providing a ‘perfect’ setting for students to learn and grow and is not only full of magnificent greenery but also the best place for students to achieve their educational goals while enjoying the process of learning.
Every year we celebrate Van Mahotsav with great zeal and enthusiasm at our school and take this opportunity to inculcate in our students the values that promote environment preservation and conservation. This year, our Grade 6 to 8 students celebrated Van Mahotsav in a unique and inspiring way as they participated in many planting activities around the campus and took charge of raising environment awareness among the school staff and students. Along with taking part in activities that were based on different aspect of environment protection, they also distributed saplings among our school's support staff and encouraged everyone to take steps towards conservation, preservation, and restoration of the nature.
We were delighted to see our green warriors making sincere efforts to educate people around them about environment-related concerns and successfully sending out their message in an innovative and encouraging way. Keep up the good work, kiddos!
