Dear Parents,
“September Days are here. With summer’s best of weather And autumn’s best of Cheer. This month began on a joyful note for GIIS Bannerghatta.
It is said that “Our Grandparents create memories that the heart holds forever”. Children from our Pre-Primary section expressed their affection for this most cherished relation in their lives through many ways. The students of Nursery, K1 and K2 made hand-printed cards, cutouts with the faces of their beautiful Grandparents and beautiful shelf sitters, and showered their love. It was a treat to watch these students express their love unconditionally.
This was followed by festivities for the all-time favourite festival –Ganesh Chaturthi. Children crafted beautiful and intricate Ganesh as, decorated Ganesha with shells, seeds, grains and the like displaying the or creativity and their love for the Elephant – God. Festivals are an integral part of our culture and GIIS Bannerghatta instils in its students a love for culture and traditions
The Reading month activities continue as students of Grade 5 and 6 are doing character analysis, and book reviews on their chosen books. Reading needs to be nurtured through these formative years and we are looking forward to continue these personalities–shaping activities throughout the year.
The school’s Green Ethos and the maxim “Nature Befriends Education “continue to be the mainstay on which the foundation of our school was built. The Green curriculum has won us many accolades the latest being a Three-Star Rating at the prestigious APQO awards 2021. Students continue to pledge for a greener future and make the Green vision and Mission a part of their lives. GIIS Bannerghatta is committed to creating a future where all energy is consumed from sustainable sources and sustained by a student fraternity that understands and values the social, economic, and environmental benefits that green energy provides to our communities, our nation, and the world.
GIIS Bannerghatta recently hosted the Inter-Campus Debate competition for Grade 8 to 12 on September 4. t was a great confluence of young minds from Grade 8 to 12 who debated on the Topic “Covid Has Shown That We Can Overcome Any Problem”. The Debate was judged by esteemed Judge Ms Taniya Tikoo, a renowned name in the field of Media and who is currently the Editor-in-Chief, and Co-Founder of ObserveNow – a Platform for honest and investigative journalism. It was indeed a privilege to host this significant event as the winners will represent GIIS at the National School Debate competition – Valley of Words at Mussorie.
Exams for Grade 6 have successfully been conducted on the online examination Portal – Ekalavvya which has been a smooth affair like in the past.
Preparations for GSF 20 are in full swing and the mega launch is planned for September 25 with collaborative efforts from the students, parents and the entire staff at Bannerghatta.
In conclusion, it was truly a “September to Remember” in more ways than one!
