GIIS has initiated a Virtual Global Connect Series for Kindergarteners in India to interact with their counterparts in the other Geos. This is an excellent opportunity for the GIIS students to learn from their peers and gain a deeper understanding of the concepts.

As part of this initiative, GIIS PG Smart Campus students invited the GIIS Ahmedabad students to their classroom on Friday, 31st August 2021. The topic for their classroom was 'Food Plate'. The PG Smart Campus students confidently shared meaningful information on various food groups and the nutrients of each food group. The GIIS Ahmedabad students also had an opportunity to participate in the Quiz conducted by the PG Smart Campus students on the said topic. It was indeed a delight to see the GIIS Ahmedabad students all charged and geared up to answer the questions posed by their friends from Singapore. It was a great platform for all the students to interact and learn from each other.

Similarly, GIIS Ahmedabad students were all prepared and excited for their presentation scheduled on Friday, 17th September 2021. The topic for their presentation was the one always loved by the Kindergarteners - Animal Safari.  A lot of brainstorming sessions were conducted by the Headmistress and the GMP teachers to build a concept that would include the Pillars of GMP. The students, teachers, and parents of GIIS Ahmedabad had put in earnest and tireless efforts during the practice sessions. ?

The entire presentation of GIIS Ahmedabad was moderated flawlessly by a K2 student who charmed one and all with her confidence and oratory skills. The welcome message was followed by the school prayer. The students were involved in several activities such as drawing, speak up, craft activity, and many more related to the theme  'Animals ', and a short video of the glimpses of these activities was presented before entering the Kingdom of Animals. The journey of Animal Safari started with the introduction of animals. Further to it,  the students explained about the farm animals, wild animals, young ones of animals, aquatic animals, homes of animals, types of animals- carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores and a mind-map of the entire concept.

It was interesting to see the young explorers of GIIS Ahmedabad sharing interesting facts, knowledge bytes, and information about Red Data Book, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, and much more. This additional information shared by them added to the learning and knowledge of their peers. The Green Crusaders touched upon the topics of I-Care, showing their concern for the endangered animals and marine life as affected by water pollution and oil leakage. It was really heart-touching and alarming. The young orators shared some solutions to stop the pollution,  which includes the 3 R, trash collection, planting of trees, and so on.  'Kindness' is the word that is always instilled in the children of  GIIS and is an integral value imbibed under the umbrella of UNIVAL. The GIIS Ahmedabad students shared the importance of showing kindness and empathy towards animals.

Mr. Caesar D'silva, Principal GIIS Ahmedabad  expressed his happiness on the occasion stating, "Learning has gone beyond the books, and while teaching, learning also happens." He showered his blessings on the young kindergarteners and was very delighted to interact with the PG Smart Campus students.

The other attractions of the presentation by GIIS Ahmedabad were the dances, rhymes, and a virtual tour. The PG Smart Campus could be seen dancing happily to the tunes of animal songs. A wonderful connection indeed.

A Quiz based on the topic was conducted by the GIIS Ahmedabad Quiz Masters of K2. It was amazing to see the PG Smart Campus students answering confidently and enthusiastically.

The splendid and impressive presentation put up by GIIS Ahmedabad students was appreciated by one and all. The students were confident and rattled off their lines with such ease - they seemed pro at virtual presentations. ?

Ms. Vaishali  Borde, National Head GMP, was spellbound with the performance of the children and said in her message,  "At GMP, the Virtual Connect Series started this year that makes space for a lot of children to participate and interact with their counterparts and friends. This Connect provided a wonderful forum for the children to develop their critical 21st Century Skills. Future learning is an integral pillar at GMP and such programmes will foster the digital competence skills of our students." She congratulated the GIIS Ahmedabad and PG Smart Campus teams for successfully conducting this event.

Ms. Gayatri Moras, Vice Principal GIIS Ahmedabad graced the occasion and showered her love and blessings through inspiring words.

Ms. Rema Rajiv, GMP Head - PG Smart Campus received a lot of appreciation as children had a great time listening to the story narrated by her.
