The tiny tots of GIIS Ahmedabad celebrated Grandparents Day

“A grandparent is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend.”

The role of grandparents is ever-changing from a mentor to a historian, loving companions, and child-care providers. They share stories about the past, traditions, rituals, their own childhood, and contributions to the family identity. On that account, the Global Indian International School (GIIS) Ahmedabad celebrated Grandparents Day to honor the pivotal members of the family.

Around 60 grandparents conducted fruitful sessions on yoga, value-based stories, shlokas, songs, and other enriching activities. The students of kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 organized an assembly wherein they gave enthralling song and dance performances as a token of love and respect to their grandparents.

The young-senior citizens enjoyed the ‘Grandparents Day Celebrations’ along with the kids with great zeal. Students in Grade 1 and 2 sang a beautiful song to express gratitude towards their grandparents.

The grandparents had a tinge of tears in their eyes after the soulful and innocent performances of our tiny tots. The Principal - Mr. Caesar D’silva, Vice Principal - Ms. Monita Dash, and Head Mistress - Ms. Ruchika Dhingra presented the Tulsi sapling to all the grandparents as a token of respect.

Sharing his thoughts on Grandparents Day, Mr. Caesar D’silva, the Principal said, “Being honored by your grandchildren is the best gift any grandparent can receive. They are also blessed to have such a great mentor cum best friends with them. GIIS Ahmedabad is overwhelmed to organize this day with grandparents. I am delighted to experience the avidity of the senior citizens while performing various activities."
