The magic of music infuses the ‘World Music Day’ Celebrations at GIIS Ahmedabad

Music holds the power to transform our mood and bring boundless joy to our daily lives.

GIIS Ahmedabad conducted various activities on the occasion of the ‘World Music Day’ to take the students and parents through a journey into the wonderful and magical world of music.

An exciting quiz based on movie songs was conducted for the parents and students of the Pre-Primary Section. Whereas, the students and parents of Grades 1 and 2 had great fun participating in a quiz based on Indian Classical Music and Western Instruments.

A special Competition- ‘Musical Expressions’ was organized for the students of Grades 3 to 5. The students portrayed their emotions and imagination about music through Art. It was a delight to watch the videos sent by the students singing their favourite songs and playing musical instruments. These videos were shared by the teachers during the special class assemblies held on the day.

The singing contest for grades 6 to 12 saw the students captivating the audience with their melodious rendition of some peppy and soulful numbers. Mr. Cedric Fernandez, a renowned musician of the city, decided the winners of the Contest. He congratulated the students for their mesmerizing performances.

Mr. Caesar D’silva, Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad said in his speech. “Music is the only universal language which does not require words to understand it. It plays an important role in uniting people irrespective of their cultural differences. We find music all around us in Nature. Music has the power to bring positivity to our lives. At GIIS Ahmedabad, we encourage our students to learn music. The school keeps adding to the pool of budding musicians each year and provides them various national and international platforms to display their musical talents and gain recognition.”   

E-certificates were awarded to the winners of all the competitions.
