November was all about enhancing learning abilities and victory for GIIS Ahmedabad

‘Learning never exhausts the mind’

Dear Parent,

Greetings of the day!

I am extremely pleased to share that the month of November was full of enhancing learning abilities for the students of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad. Our students represented the school in various competitions like RWCC and INTACH where they won laurels in various categories. We have also been awarded in the education category at IMC MQH Best Practices Competition 2022.

GIIS Ahmedabad believes that learning helps us to get exposure to new ideas and concepts that can be used to appreciate and improve the world around us. GIIS Ahmedabad organized several activities which developed the learning abilities of students.

One of the most cherished events of the month was Children’s Day celebration. GIIS Ahmedabad always believes that Childhood is the most beautiful phase in one’s life which is full of laughter, sunshine, and love. This year, we celebrated Children’s Day with immense joy and enthusiasm to make it a memorable day for students. The tiny tots of Nursery, K1, and K2 were dressed casually and had their favorite food during lunchtime. A special camel cart ride was also arranged for students of GMP to Grade 2, which was enjoyed thoroughly.

Teachers revived their childhood memories by presenting special assemblies for their students with fun, dance, drama, and music performances. The students of Grades 1 and 2 were dressed as per their favorite cartoon or comic heroes and had to speak two lines about the character. The theme of the Children’s Day party for Grades 3 to 5 was Wall of Fame, wherein they were given a choice to be dressed like their role model including family members, internet personalities, historical figures, athletes, or celebrities.

GIIS Ahmedabad always strives to create a theme-based learning environment for students to enhance their learning abilities. This thematic study approach helps students to connect efficiently and encourages their learning spirit. GIIS Ahmedabad organized a ‘Spirit Week’ for kindergarteners. The week-long activities and events were a combination of conceptual knowledge, values, celebration, and fun. During the week, the tiny tots were taught about the concepts of ‘Budding Teaching’ wherein, they got an opportunity to teach the concept to their classmates.

In order to inculcate the value of team spirit, GIIS Ahmedabad organized ‘School Color Day’ where students were dressed-up as per the colors of the school logo. Since the theme of the month was Animal Kingdom and to reinforce the concept of tiny tots, the school organized Animal Safari field trips to the aquatic gallery.

In order to introduce the students to western culture and enhance their vocabulary skills, a Halloween-themed festival was organized for the GMP students. The little kids were dressed like witches, superheroes, and vampires. An array of activities and a photo booth were planned for the students to add to the festive spirit.

‘Run for Unity’ was organized to demonstrate solidarity with the soldiers of our country and the students of Grades 6 and 9 participated in the campaign. They took a pledge of patriotism and showed their respect for the valor, courage, and bravery of Indians.

‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas is not only commemorated as the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel but also affirms the inherent strength and resilience of our people to withstand threats to the security, unity, and integrity of the country.

Besides these activities, we successfully conducted Pre-Board exams for Grades 10 and 12 and I would like to extend my best wishes to these children for their results.

GIIS Ahmedabad is gearing up with extravaganza marquee events like GIIS IDEATE and GIIS MUN in the next month. I am looking forward to excellent performances by students during these competitions.

Warm Regards,

Caesar D’silva

Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad
