Greetings of the day!
As we welcome the month of August, I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits. July marks a midpoint in our academic year 2024-25, which is a time for reflection, rejuvenation, and renewed dedication to our goals. This month we celebrated the hard work and accomplishments of our students. I am incredibly proud to share the progress our students have made together and the vibrant learning community we continue to build.
To begin with the month’s event, GIIS Ahmedabad organized a career day which serves as a gateway for students to explore infinite opportunities and gain valuable insights into various industries. By bringing together professionals from various fields, GIIS career day session for grade 8 to 10 students to explore the fields of fashion and design, cyber security, and mass communication and journalism.
GIIS Ahmedabad took a significant step towards environmental sustainability by organizing a successful plantation drive with a vision of contributing towards a greener future and aligning with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (UN SDG). GIIS Plantation Drive initiative is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of trees and encouraging students to take proactive measures to protect the environment.
GIIS Ahmedabad launched an inspiring awareness campaign focused on sustainability and the importance of reusing to reduce the waste at the source. The campaign-themed ‘Waste Over Wealth’ aims to empower underprivileged children and community members with educational resources.
GIIS Ahmedabad encouraged students and parents to collect waste and sell it to generate revenue for purchasing learning materials for underprivileged children. We are thrilled to share that more than 4000 students contributed books, paper waste, compasses, water bottles, pencils, colours, and e-waste worth Rs. 7000, benefiting 320 students from Kointya Prathamic Shala and Gokul Ashram Primary School, Gota.
The senior school faculty of GIIS Ahmedabad organized an interactive, enlightening and informative program - Toppers Talk featuring our distinguished sharing their invaluable knowledge, insights and tips to guide young students towards academic excellence. GIIS Ahmedabad toppers talk featured a panel of outstanding achievers of our passed-out CBSE batch 2023-24 students. The panellist spoke eloquently about the challenges they faced and their strategies to overcome them.
In the celebration of leadership, commitment, dedication and school spirit, GIIS Ahmedabad organized its annual GIIS investiture ceremony. The event marked the formal appointment of student leaders chosen to represent and lead the student body for the academic year 2024.
The newly appointed student council for the morning and afternoon shifts, head boy Saikrishna Nair (morning shift), Ridhanshu Sharma (afternoon shift), and head girl Shruti Bajpai (morning), Dhruvi Nimbhal (afternoon) stood with pride as they pledged to uphold the values and principles of the school.
GMP students of GIIS Ahmedabad celebrated Guru Purnima with great zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration commenced with a tilak ceremony wherein, students applied tilak on their teachers' foreheads, symbolising respect and reverence for their teachers. They presented well-rehearsed bhajans or spoke 3-4 sentences on My Guru-My Guide for her favourite teacher.
Beyond these events, I congratulate GIIS Chess Champions - Ishayu Maji and Aatman Raval who brought laurels to the school at JGIS SWADHA 2024, the interschool literary and sports competition. Ishayu Maji clinched 1st rank in the grade 3 to 5 category and Aatman Raval also secured 1st rank in the grade 6 to 9 category.
The month of August will be exciting with a major event - GIIS IDEATE 3.0 wherein I anticipate maximum participation of our students. I am looking forward to an exciting time ahead, where our students perform extremely well in activities and events ahead.
