Dear Parent,

Greetings from GIIS Ahmedabad!

First of all, on behalf of the GIIS Ahmedabad family, I would like to congratulate and welcome all the students to the new academic session 2023-24. I am extremely delighted to share that the month of April was a successful attempt to start the  classes in complete physical mode. I would also like to congratulate all the teachers and staff members for putting their best efforts in the smooth functioning of school. 

Since April is over, I would like to take this opportunity to share the events and achievements of the month with you all:

GIIS LLS - Sangeet for Peace

GIIS Ahmedabad conducted the first Leadership Lecture Series (LLS) of the new academic session based on - Visual and Performing Arts which was graced by sitar maestro Padma Shri Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan and tabla player Ustad Kadar Khan. The two musical maestros performed ragas to enthrall the audience through the world of heavenly music. The most astonishing performance of the classical concert was ‘Tabla-Sitar Jugalbandi’ which made the event memorable for everyone. 

GIIS Ahmedabad University Connect Program

GIIS Ahmedabad created a golden opportunity for the students of Grades 10 to 12 by organizing a University Connect Program in association with KIC UnivAssist and 20 reputed universities. Delegates from 20 renowned universities from the USA, France, Hong-Kong, and Spain including Ohio University, The State University of New York, The University of Oklahoma to name a few visited GIIS Ahmedabad campus for a career counselling session with the students. During the session, the students had a one-on-one interaction with the reputed representatives of US universities to gain more simplified information on the doubts they had.

GIIS Ahmedabad Library Week

GIIS Ahmedabad celebrated the National Library Week 2023 to inculcate a positive attitude towards reading books among the students. GMP students learned the different genres, its importance and how to take care of books. Grade 1 to 8 students organized various fun-filled activities to build interest in reading books. LLS was organized for Grades 9 to 12 on how to review a book which was graced by Ms. Seema Saxena, a journalist and writer.

GIIS Ahmedabad Earth Week

In order to sensitize students about the importance of Earth, GIIS Ahmedabad celebrated Earth Day focusing on its mission to ‘Invest in our Planet’. As a signatory of UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG), GMP to 12 students participated in various activities such as sowing plants, poster and collage making to promote recycling and gardening. The students also presented Nukkad Natak in public places to publicize the concept of Earth Hour. 

GIIS Ahmedabad Champions - April 2023

I am extremely proud to present the GIIS Ahmedabad champions for the month of April. My heartiest congratulations to Mihika Khatri of Grade 9D for winning the title of Miss Glamorous in Junior Miss India 2023 which was held in Mumbai. 

Kartikeya Patel - GIIS Ahmedabad’s swimming champion has again proved his mettle in Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam Invitational Competition by winning 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. Kudos to Ayaan Chettiar who attained 6th rank in 5th Holi Cup International Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament 2023.

Not to forget the summer vacation and its celebration!! The children wait for the long vacation for the entire year in order to unwind, learn creative things and explore new places. May you all have the best time with your family as well as friends and enjoy it to the fullest. Looking forward to listening to all the amazing vacation stories in May.
