Pallavi Kushreshtha, Science Teacher in the Middle School Segment of GIIS Ahmedabad, recently bagged the “Best Zonal Teacher Award 2020’ from Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) for her contribution to the excellent performance shown by her students in the Science Olympiad. The Award consists of a Citation, Trophy, and cash prize of Rs.5,000. This is the second award in a row she has received from SOF. In the year 2019, she had bagged the ‘Best District Teacher Award’ from SOF.

Pallavi has been the Incharge of conducting Olympiads at GIIS Ahmedabad since 2017. An extremely passionate and dedicated teacher, she is known for using innovative techniques to make the subject of Science interesting and engaging for her students. It is not surprising that she secured the First Position in the Google Classroom and Flip Classroom Competition 2018 held at GIIS Ahmedabad.

She has mentored the students for the Quality Circle Projects in the Middle School Segment for the forums like RWCC organized by GIIS Singapore in the years 2018 and 2019, where the students secured the top spots.  Under her guidance, on the Global Excellence Day 2021, Quality Circle Project of GIIS Ahmedabad on ‘Combating Social Isolation among the Students’ (Middle School Category) bagged the GOLD Award recently.

Pallavi has also shared her expertise and prepared the students for various Global Student Exchange Programmes on topics like ‘Truth in Advertising’, where the students secured the first position, and ‘Creating New Species’ where they secured the second position.

She is responsible for coordinating the work for the Science Department for Grades 6 to 10, guiding the teachers in lesson planning, doubt solving, blueprint designing, and mentoring them as and when required.

Pallavi is soft-spoken, has grace and her work speaks volumes for what she stands for not in academics alone but also in the values and ethics she abides in. Her commitment and dedicated service were recognized by the school with the ‘Employee of the Month’ award in August 2020 and by GIIS in the form of the ‘Exceptional Teacher Award’ during the GIIS Annual School Awards 2020.

She was a part of the team that prepared MLP for GALS Project Track 15. She is the Incharge teacher for GALS Track 1B Project for Grade 7 Science and has also rendered her contribution for GALS Track 24 -Smart Learning, a knowledge hub (Ready Reckoner).
