“Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.” - Chris Grosser

In keeping with the spirit of the above adage, the Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad created a golden opportunity for the students of Senior School by organizing a University Connect Programme in association with Indo American Education Society (IAES) and 17 US university delegates.

Delegates from 17 reputed universities including Ohio University, San Diego State University, University of San Francisco, Wright State University, Colorado State University, Hawai’i Pacific University, Rowan University, and The University of Arizona to name a few visited the GIIS Ahmedabad Campus on 19th July 2022 for a session with the students of Classes 10, 11, and 12 in the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) of the School Campus.

Prior to the counselling session, Ms. Vaishali Sharma from EducationUSA@IAES introduced the students to the career counseling session, the opportunity to interact with the representatives of reputed US universities on campus, and various offerings at each of these universities. The session highlighted the benefits of studying in the U.S.A., eligibility criteria for various courses, the registration and admission process, requisite documents required, and more.

During the University Connect Programme Fair, the students had a one-on-one interaction with the delegates to gain more simplified information on the doubts they had. They learned about the career opportunities for various courses. The delegates also recommended the most in-demand courses for the students of Classes 10 and 11.

One of the participants, Mihir Lalwani from Grade 12 shared his experience, “This programme turned out to be constructive guidance for my career. It gave me a better understanding of the career I have to choose. The session was very informative and interactive and motivated me to put more effort into academics to fulfill my dream of education in the US.”
