GIIS Ahmedabad students celebrated Mother’s Day with photos, quotes, wishes and more!

Mother’s Day is solely devoted to all the mothers across the globe. A protector, teacher, biggest supporter, the first love of a child - mothers are all these and much more. Being a mother is indeed the hardest yet most rewarding experience. Usually, International Mother’s Day falls on the first Sunday of May. This year, Mother's Day 2022 is celebrated on May 8, in more than 40 countries around the world.

Happy Mother’s Day Wishes:

At GIIS Ahmedabad, we asked the students to share some of the happiest moments of their Mothers Day celebration. GIISians celebrated the occasion by spending time with their mothers, gifting hand-made decorative cards with mother’s day quotes, cooking for them, and more.

.Here are the glimpses of the Mother’s Day celebration:

  • The Kindergarteners innocently expressed their emotions for their mothers.
  •  Shrihan Sengupta, Nevyn Sinam, Krishna Dhola, and Ruhi Bhoot of the K2 F section spent quality time with their Mums.
  • Tithi Mehta, Grade 7D made a delicious Oreo Swiss roll for her mother
  • Dhyana Madhu and Rajvi Parmar made adoring cards for their mothers.

Mother’s Day quotes: Why Mothers are important?

When asked why Mothers are important, Yuvaan Gupta (Class 2G) said that “My mum is very important to me because she knows me better than anyone, even myself. She doesn’t even think about her own happiness but rather cares for my happiness above anything else.  She teaches me everything, she is my first teacher and my lifetime supporter, my best friend.”

Vidhan Parekh expressed his emotions for his mother, “Mum, I love you more than words can say! I am so blessed to have a mum like you. I know raising me was not easy, so I am so thankful for all your unconditional love and patience.”

Sharing his thoughts on why Mothers Day is important, Satvik Sinha of Class 8 said, “Mother is the only human being who can understand you when you can’t express yourself. Mothers are just magical and I think they have more than five senses. Science also cannot explain these things.” He also believes that Mother’s Day is not enough to express our gratitude for the thankless duties she does every day.

Mothers Day reactions

In exchange for the emotions, the Mothers also expressed their warmth for these efforts made by their children. Kaveesh Trivedi’s (Class 2G) mother shared her emotions saying, “From bringing coconut water for me, saying ‘’love you Mumma’, making cards with wonderful thoughts, to taking care of your little brother, everything was perfect! Thank you for your efforts, my lovely son! God Bless You, always! Thank you once again for bringing happiness always into my life. And when my son says I am the heart of the family, it was the best feeling for me. Thank you GIIS and Daksha Ma'am for giving wings to my kid to think.”

How to celebrate Mother’s Day?

We believe that there is no one who can replace a mother, but she can take the responsibilities of all others. We can never pay back for whatever mothers do for us and continue to do. All we can do is appreciate and reciprocate the same love and affection just the way they shower on us. However, mothers will never ask for anything in return, but we can always make them feel special with small and sweet gestures.

So if you are thinking of making your mother feel special, make this Mother’s Day as an opportunity to tell her how important she is to you. Express your love by spending little time from your busy schedule with your mother and family, because that is what she deserves.
