Global Excellence Day (GED), was launched in the year 2020 to commemorate the Global Schools Foundation Day that falls on the 18th of September. The basic concept behind Global Excellence Day is to promote and celebrate quality and service excellence within GIIS. 

As part of the Global Excellence Day, Global Quality Circle or Best Practice Competitions are organized for all the GIIS Campuses, in which the students and staff present their most prominent Quality Circle Projects or Best Practices.

Campus-wise Kaizen club implementation along with Kaizen Galleries was showcased and recognized for the first time during the GED held this year.

GIIS Ahmedabad participated in all the categories of the GED 2021 Competitions and presented their latest Quality Circle Projects. Team Ahmedabad also impressed the judges with apt and well-articulated responses during the Q&A round that was held after the presentations.

The Awards received by GIIS Ahmedabad for their projects under different categories include:

·       Junior Category (Grades 3 to 5)

Project- Improving students’ performance by enhancing online teaching deliverables- Best Topic Award

·       Middle Category ( Grades 6 to 8)

Project- Combating Social Isolation among the students- GOLD Award

·       Senior Category (Grades 9 to 12)

Project- Gaming Addiction Problem among the students- GOLD Award, Best Presenter Award for Shivakshi Gupta, Grade 10

·       Kaizen Video Gallery- GOLD Award

·       Overall SILVER Award for GED 2021

Mr. Caesar D’silva, Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad, expressing his happiness on this achievement says, “We are proud to see our young students identifying important problems, researching on them, conducting surveys, finding solutions, and implementing the same under the guidance of their teachers. A platform like GED is unique to GIIS. Being a part of such projects had a tremendous impact on our students, as they have become solution-oriented and future-ready!”

The Principal invited all the participants from GIIS Ahmedabad on a zoom call after the results were announced and congratulated each of them individually. He also applauded the Kaizen Project of GIIS headed under the leadership of Ms. Gayatri Moras, Vice Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad for carrying out several innovative activities for continuous improvement. The students and teachers conveyed their thanks to the Principal and GIIS for providing such a platform to them.

It was a wonderful experience for the students and teachers with a lot of learnings as takeaways.
