The Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad has continued its tradition of winning Best Heritage Club 2022-2023 by the Indian National Trust for Art and Culture (INTACH) for the  9th consecutive year. The school has created history by winning again this year. The award is in recognition of the various activities conducted by the students throughout the year to promote and preserve Indian heritage. 

The INTACH Heritage award program has been established with an objective to promote sensitivity and awareness among students of architecture and heritage across the country. Under the guidance of the GIIS’s INTACH team mentored by Ms. Ruchika Dhingra, and led by Ms. Khushboo Patel and Ms. Amruta Karandikar, more than 30 activities were organized as a part of Heritage Club this year. The main objective of conducting these activities was to teach the importance of Indian heritage and ways to preserve it.

Each student of GIIS INTACH Heritage Club was motivated to participate in heritage preservation activities to learn more about the local draft, natural craft, natural heritage, active participation in heritage festivals, making films on rich culture heritage, museum tours, and walks. Several activities like Heritage Food Festivals, Virtual Heritage Tours, Community Care, Interschool Heritage Fests, Heritage Quizzes, INTACH FILMIT and other activities were conducted by the GIIS INTACH Heritage Club.

Inspired by the vast heritage of India, the students of INTACH Club made films on varied topics like historical monuments, natural heritage, built heritage, living heritage and others. We are delighted to share that our students have won five awards along with the certificate for maximum number of participation. 

Mr. Caesar D’silva, Principal of GIIS Ahmedabad congratulated the winners of INTACH Heritage Club members. Sharing his thoughts he said, “The award is the testimony of the excellent work exhibited by the school and students for the promotion of our culture and heritage through INTACH Heritage Club. The students of GIIS Ahmedabad are always encouraged to become the custodians of protecting India’s cultural heritage through meaningful acts.”

GIIS Ahmedabad INTACH Club has been a winner of the Best Heritage Club for four years consecutively. The school has also been awarded under the Special Mention Category for two years, New Achievers Award Category for 1 year and has also bagged the second position in the Best Heritage Club Category.
