“May your Diwali be free from darkness and abundant with light.”
The Global Indian International School (GIIS) Ahmedabad believes in spreading happiness. Since Diwali is around the corner, GIIS Ahmedabad organized Diwali Celebration to add colors, joy, a festive mood, family bond, parent engagement, skills development, and many more attractions. The students of GMP to Grade 12 light up the school during the Diwali Celebration with mesmerizing performances.
This year, the GMP segment organized the Diwali Celebration - ‘Diwali Ka Tyohar Maa Ke Sang’ on the theme ‘Illuminating Light of Happiness’. GMP teachers gave an opportunity to the mothers to create memories with their little ones by participating in various competitions like rangoli making, no flame cookery, gift wrapping, thali decoration, and many more. GIIS Ahmedabad is delighted to organize the Diwali Celebration for more than 100 mothers.
The tiny tots of K2 presented a special assembly wherein they enacted the story of Ramayana and shared the purpose of celebrating Deepawali. With the motive to spread the message of sharing is caring, 6 GMP parents from each class were requested to send the food for the entire class.
We also organized dynamic competitions for students in grades 1 to 8 to showcase their culinary and creative skills. Diya decoration, toran making, and lantern making were the competitions for students of Grades 1 to 5. The middle school students of Grades 6 to 8 were engaged in Rangoli design house-wise competitions with a message to society. Grade 6 to 8 students from respective houses had to design rangolis based on various themes like Save the Environment, Say No to Plastic, Save Earth, Heritage India, Nature, Van Mahotsav, Food Festival, and many more.
The secondary school students from Grades 9 to 12 conducted a special assembly wherein they showcased their talent in dance, singing, drumming, and more.
In his message to the students, Mr. Caesar D’silva, Principal of GIIS Ahmedabad said, “As the holy festival of Diwali is here, the environment is filled with the spirit of light, happiness, and love. I wish that the festival brings your way bright sparkles of contentment that stay with you through the year. I would request you all not to burst crackers which may affect animals and the environment around us."
