Vaccines are the new vital tools in the battle against COVID-19 and it is heartening to see so many vaccines proving successful and going into the development stage. Working round the clock, scientists from across the world are collaborating and innovating to bring us tests, treatments, and vaccines that will collectively save lives and end this pandemic. Close at home, the Indian Government too has galvanized the COVID vaccination drive. 

Vaccination is a safe and effective way to prevent disease and save lives. When we get vaccinated, we aren’t just protecting ourselves, but also those around us.

At GIIS, the safety of our teachers and their families is of paramount importance. Therefore, a vaccination camp was organized at GIIS Ahmedabad on the initiative of Principal Mr. Caesar D’silva for providing covid vaccination to the Staff members and their families.

A team of government doctors and health workers were invited to the school campus for the vaccination camp. The information regarding the camp was provided to the staff through internal communication and a form was sent to them for registering in the same. Almost 150 members of the staff including the teachers, admin staff, support staff, and security personnel as well as their families were successfully administered the first dose of Covishield.

The government guidelines for social distancing, sanitization, wearing masks along post-vaccination supervision for half an hour were followed stringently.

The staff members and others who received the vaccination expressed their gratitude to the Principal and the team of doctors for this noble initiative. “We can now proudly say that GIIS is not only safe from the Campus hygiene measures but also is fully safe from teachers and staff who are protected against any threat from Covid-19”, commented Principal Mr. Caesar D’Silva.
