Aryaman Gargary, a student of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad won a bronze medal in the Gujrat State Powerlifting Championship held in the city in March 2019. He participated in the sub junior category and lifted about 270 kgs of weight in total i.e. 90 kgs in squats and 125 kgs in the deadlift, and 55 kgs in bench press.

Powerlifting is a strength sport in which the athlete attempts to lift weights using three techniques mentioned above. This sport has been given a special place in the world Olympics and was originated in the ancient Greek and Persian times.

Master Gargary is a short put athlete who has been playing on national level competitions and recently participated in the SSPF National Athletics Meet in New Delhi; he has been taking professional training in the sport and aims to win big one day.
