A large crowd gathered at the school gates as on this auspicious day, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation declared Godrej Garden City as a "Zero Waste Township" This progressive initiative was taken by Team Godrej in order to control waste and also recycle the garbage accumulated from Godrej Garden City. A massive facility unit called the MRF or Material Recovering Facility was set up which was inaugurated by the Chief Guest.

Shri Nehra addressed the children in his powerful and impactful speech wherein he mentioned the importance of a clean and green nation and emphasized on "Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan", one of the many aspects that Mahatma Gandhi focused on.

High emotions and love for our Mother Land resonated among one and all as the children presented a beautiful "Nukkad Natak" which focused on keeping our Country Clean and Green which could be initiated with the segregation of wet waste and dry waste.

The little ones of Grade 1 and 2, not wanting to be left behind, celebrated the spirit of giving by hosting a donation drive in association with Goonj - an NGO which undertakes disaster relief, humanitarian aid and community development in parts of 22 states across India. The little ones donated Toys, Clothes, biscuits, books and many more items focusing on the slogan 'Sharing is Caring and Spreading Happiness' as an MGCUV Initiative. The rooms of GIIS were filled with boxes of love and generosity which were handed over to Goonj who in turn, would hand it over to the affected people in the slum areas.

The celebrations at GIIS did not end here!
